About Tony

I was born in Margate, though have lived in London most of life.  I have always loved music and was a DJ in my late teens and twenties, in and around Bermondsey.  I did an electrical apprenticeship for 5 years with a company called Jay Electric’s in Fenchurch Street in the City of London where I gained a City & Guilds qualification to become an electrician.  I have run my own successful business for the last 20 years or so.  I am a father of three children.  I enjoy living life to full and look forward to going out at weekends after a hard working week.

I have a general interest in digital photography and enjoy using the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10, FZ50 and have just recently purchased the FZ100 which I’m looking forward to experimenting with.

In 1984 I achieved a 2nd City & Guilds qualification in Radio Communication (Amateur Radio) and I was issued the Call sign of G1HIG.  In 2004 I become the Founder Member and Manager/coordinator of the Bromley Repeater Group for the GB3OK and GB7OK repeaters, which have excellent radio coverage over London and surrounding areas.

More details about Amateur Radio & Radio Repeaters can be found at the repeater websites: http://gb3ok.com or http://gb7ok.com
